Silo

The Silo, along with the building of manufacturing with the huge chimney and the building with the furnaces formed an undivided unit, the Glass factory of the Fertilizer Company.

The building of concrete with the 8 twin Silos of capacity 500 tons, was the main storage and supply unit of the Glass factory. Through its mechanical equipment secured the supply and transportation of the raw materials to the building of manufacturing where the proportions of the raw materials were cleaned before being transported to the glass factory so that the production would begin. The only thing left from the building of manufacturing is the white and red chimney of more than 120 meters height.

It is worth noting that the storage spaces of the Fertilizer Company formed an important part of the installations and had to meet specific standards depending on the raw materials that were stored inside of them. Sand, sodium, dolomite, nephelite, marble, sodium sulfate, dead burned magnesia, metal oxides, coking coal and moil mostly were kept and protected at the various storage spaces.
